Record-Breaking Success at Our First Open Day of 2026

The first Speedshop44 open day of 2026 proved to be our biggest and most successful event to date, with a record turnout and our highest-ever amount raised for Cancer Research UK, raising over £400 for this fantastic cause.

Enthusiasts, customers, friends and families joined us throughout the day to explore the workshops, see current restoration and performance projects up close, and enjoy a packed schedule of live demonstrations. With a wide variety of classic, performance and specialist vehicles on display across the site, there was plenty for visitors to see throughout the day. It was fantastic to welcome so many familiar faces alongside new visitors experiencing our open day for the first time.

The demonstrations were a major highlight of the event. The morning began with a live metalworking demonstration at 10 am, offering visitors an insight into the traditional craftsmanship, fabrication techniques and specialist skills involved in our restoration work. This demonstration was presented by our senior panel beater, who has been working in the trade for 37 years, demonstrating our team’s vast skills and technical knowledge. At 11 am, guests gathered for a dry ice blasting demonstration, showcasing our new, increasingly popular cleaning process used during restorations and preservation work, particularly on delicate or hard-to-reach components. The technical talk was highly informative and educational about how to preserve and protect your vehicle. The demonstrations continued into the afternoon with a rolling road session, giving visitors the chance to experience the sights, sounds and atmosphere of performance tuning in action on our state-of-the-art rolling road dyno.

Most importantly, the event helped raise a record amount for Cancer Research UK, something we are incredibly proud of as a team. The generosity and support shown throughout the day played a huge part in making the event such a success, from those who attended and donated to everybody who helped organise and run the day behind the scenes. The continued support for both the event and the charity means a huge amount to all of us, and we would like to thank everyone who contributed in any way.

Following the overwhelming success of the first open day of the year, we are already looking ahead to the next one. Our summer open day will take place on July 11th, and after such an incredible start to 2026, we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back for another great day.
